Description:
At 232 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Newellton, or 13 miles north of St. Joseph, moving southeast at 25
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
This strong thunderstorm will be near...
Newellton, Lake Bruin, and Somerset around 235 PM CDT.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
High winds can bring down trees and large limbs resulting in serious
injury or property damage. Exercise extreme caution when outdoors
during such strong winds...and be especially aware of older trees.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for
northeastern Louisiana...and southwestern and west central
Mississippi.
