Description:
At 1000 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Sideview to near Clay City to Foxtown.
Movement was east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Mount Sterling, Stanton, Irvine, Beattyville, Frenchburg,
Jeffersonville, Camargo, Clay City, Ravenna, Sharpsburg, Campsites in
the Indian Creek area of the Daniel Boone National Forrest, Pilot,
Levee, White Ash, Bowen, Cornwell, Leeco, Rothwell, Fagan, and
Virden.
THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway between mile markers 12 and 37.
Interstate 64 in eastern Kentucky between mile markers 105 and 117.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
