At 154 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Betty, or 11 miles northeast of Hindman, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Pikeville, Estill, Wayland, East McDowell, Raven, Mousie, Handshoe, Hi Hat, Glo, McDowell, Larkslane, Beaver, Buckhorn Hollow, Osborn, Garret, Orkney, Bolyn, Demo, Betty, and Ligon. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Kentucky Highway 80 in Floyd County between mile markers 1 and 2. Kentucky Highway 80 in Knott County between mile markers 15 and 20. U.S. Highway 23 in Pike County between mile markers 12 and 14, near mile marker 16, and between mile markers 24 and 26.
