Description:
At 830 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Garden Plain to near Viola, moving southeast at
40 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Wichita, Derby, Haysville, Park City, Valley Center, Bel Aire,
Mulvane, Goddard, Maize, Clearwater, Cheney, Sedgwick, Colwich,
Garden Plain, Mount Hope, Downtown Wichita, Kechi, Andale,
Eastborough, and Bentley.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 0 and 22.
Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 34 and 54.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
