At 810 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Newton, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Newton, Hesston, Halstead, Marion, North Newton, Sedgwick, Peabody, Cottonwood Falls, Whitewater, Strong City, Florence, Potwin, Walton, Elbing, Burns, Cassoday, Bazaar, Elmdale, Matfield Green, and Cedar Point. This includes the following highways... Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 23 and 40. Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 81 and 116.
