At 737 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Newton, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Newton, Hesston, Hillsboro, Halstead, Marion, North Newton, Sedgwick, Peabody, Cottonwood Falls, Burrton, Whitewater, Strong City, Florence, Goessel, Potwin, Walton, Elbing, Burns, Lincolnville, and Cassoday. This includes the following highways... Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 23 and 42. Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 80 and 116.
