Description:
At 652 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Durham to North Newton to 6 miles north of Pretty
Prairie, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Hutchinson, Newton, Hesston, Maize, Kingman, Hillsboro, South
Hutchinson, Halstead, Marion, North Newton, Moundridge, Sedgwick,
Inman, Colwich, Buhler, Haven, Peabody, Burrton, Galva, and Mount
Hope.
This includes Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 21 and 60.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for south central
and central Kansas. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect until 100
AM CDT for south central Kansas.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
