Description: 
At 340 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles north of Yates Center, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Public. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Yates Center, Neosho Falls, and Piqua.
Instruction: 
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southeastern Kansas. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
