Description:
At 537 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles east of
Buffalo, or 6 miles northwest of Chanute, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Chanute, Fredonia, Humboldt, Yates Center, Altoona, Buffalo,
Benedict, New Albany, Earlton, Coyville, Toronto Lake, Petrolia,
Rose, Chanute Airport, Piqua, and Cross Timbers State Park.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for southeastern
Kansas.
