...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED THURSDAY...
The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from noon Thursday to midnight CDT Thursday night. The Fire
Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* WINDS...South to southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up 30 to 35
mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...West of Highway 281, as low as 10 to 15
percent. East of Highway 281, as low as 15 to 20 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
