* At 1037 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Webb City to Baxter Springs, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carl Junction, Baxter Springs, Galena,
Oronogo, Carterville, Duquesne, Sarcoxie, Duenweg, Diamond, Loma
Linda, Airport Drive, Leawood, Lowell, Silver Creek, Alba, Purcell,
and Shoal Creek Drive.
This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 0 and 29.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southeastern
Kansas. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for
southwestern Missouri.
