Chapman Creek near Chapman affecting Dickinson County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Smoky Hill River near Junction City.
* WHEN...From late tonight to early Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Water spreads over north and south banks
of the smoky hill river and lowlands near the river flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- There is no current observed data.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage just after
midnight tonight to 22.8 feet tomorrow morning. It will then
fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning to 15.7 feet
Thursday evening. It will rise to 17.0 feet early Friday
afternoon. It will then fall again and remain below flood
stage.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
