...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Lyon Creek near Junction City affecting Geary County. Mill Creek Near Paxico affecting Wabaunsee County. Salt Creek near Ada affecting Ottawa County. Smoky Hill River at Enterprise affecting Dickinson County. Solomon River near Niles affecting Ottawa, Dickinson and Saline Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Salt Creek near Ada. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Minor low land flooding along the Salt Creek. At 20.0 feet, 50th Road just south of the bridge over the Salt Creek floods. At 20.2 feet, Deck of 50th Road bridge over the Salt Creek floods. At 21.0 feet, Flood waters are over one half mile wide over cultivated farm land 3 miles east southeast of the town of Ada. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.0 feet this afternoon. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
