...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Kansas...
Lyon Creek near Junction City affecting Geary County.
Mill Creek Near Paxico affecting Wabaunsee County.
Salt Creek near Ada affecting Ottawa County.
Smoky Hill River at Enterprise affecting Dickinson County.
Solomon River near Niles affecting Ottawa, Dickinson and Saline
Counties.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Lyon Creek near Junction City.
* WHEN...Until just after midnight tonight.
* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, The north bank of the creek floods near
the Highway 77 bridge.
At 23.6 feet, The south bank of the creek floods near Highway 77.
At 26.3 feet, Farm field north of the creek and west of Highway 77
floods.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.0
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this
evening.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
