...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Kansas...
Salt Creek At Barnard affecting Lincoln County.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Salt Creek at Barnard.
* WHEN...Until late Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 24.5 feet, Flood waters cover Highway 284 about 1
mile west of town and east of creek bridge and on Section Line
Road south of town. Other county roads near and around Salt Creek
flood. Agricultural fields will flood to an extent of 3/4 of a
mile.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 24.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.4
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
Thursday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
