Heavy rainfall has ended, but slow drainage from excessive rainfall will still cause flooding across the area. This Warning will replace the ongoing Flash Flood Warnings across the area. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Dickinson. In east central Kansas, Geary, Morris and Wabaunsee. In north central Kansas, Clay and Ottawa. In northeast Kansas, Pottawatomie and Riley. * WHEN...Until noon CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 621 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2.5 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - This Flood Warning will replace the ongoing Flash Flood Warnings. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Manhattan, Junction City, Abilene, Wamego, Herington, Minneapolis, Alma, St. Marys, Ogden, Grandview Plaza, Chapman, Solomon, Wakefield, Riley, Enterprise, Bennington, St. George, Maple Hill, White City and Milford. - This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 267 and 342.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
