Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following
counties, Cherokee and Crawford.
* WHEN...Until 300 PM CDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and
may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 819 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 7 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pittsburg, Girard, Frontenac, Cherokee, Weir, Scammon,
Mccune, West Mineral, Sherman, Chicopee, Franklin, Roseland,
Beulah, Carona, Lone Oak, Ringo, Opolis and Yale.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
