Verdigris River at Altoona affecting Wilson County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Verdigris River at Altoona. * WHEN...From this afternoon to just after midnight tonight. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Expect flooding of agricultural fields and gravel road near the river bridge off of Highway 47. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:45 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 16.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 19.1 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this afternoon. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
Instruction: 
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
