Description: 
At 242 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Batavia, or 11 miles southeast of Ottumwa, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Strong winds could break tree limbs, knock down weak trees and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Fairfield, Keosauqua, Batavia, Birmingham, Bonaparte, Libertyville, Stockport, Lockridge, Maharishi Vedic City, Packwood, Hillsboro, Rome, Westwood, Douds, Abingdon, Bentonsport/Vernon, Leando, Farmington, Glasgow, and Morris Park.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
