Description:
At 908 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 2 miles south of Neola to 4 miles northwest of
Macedonia to near Silver City, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Numerous reports of 55-60 mph winds were relayed from
Omaha, in addition to quarter size hail.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Council Bluffs, Glenwood, Oakland, Malvern, Treynor, Underwood,
Neola, Carson, Crescent, Emerson, Macedonia, Silver City, Henderson,
Hastings, Council Bluffs Airport, McClelland, Old Town Park, Weston,
Hitchcock Nature Center, and Mineola.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 29 between mile markers 43 and 48, and between mile
markers 55 and 68.
Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 3 and 23.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
