Description: 
At 822 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Montezuma to near Oskaloosa Municipal Airport to near Blakesburg, moving east at 65 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Iowa City, Fairfield, Washington, Sigourney, Columbus Junction, Coralville, Williamsburg, Kalona, Tiffin, Wellman, Lone Tree, University Heights, North English, Riverside, Wayland, Hedrick, Hills, Brighton, What Cheer, and Richland. This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 205 and 253.
Instruction: 
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 PM CDT for southeastern and east central Iowa. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in the Quad Cities. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
