Description: 
At 620 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles east of Walnut to 7 miles east of Griswold, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...At 6:15 AM, a personal weather station measured a 59 mph gust near Oakland, Iowa. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. These severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly rural areas of eastern Pottawattamie and southeastern Shelby Counties, including the following locations... Prairie Rose State Park, Nishna Bend Recreation Area, Elk Horn Creek Recreation Area, and Farm Creek Public Wildlife Area. This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 40 and 48.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
