At 514 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Nichols to Virginia Grove Recreation Area to near Lowell, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Fairfield, Mount Pleasant, Washington, Keosauqua, New London, Winfield, Wayland, Brighton, Ainsworth, Birmingham, Salem, Libertyville, Stockport, Lockridge, Crawfordsville, Maharishi Vedic City, Olds, Hillsboro, Rome, and Westwood.
Instruction: 
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for southeastern and east central Iowa. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
