Description:
At 520 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles north of
Hedrick, or 9 miles south of Sigourney, moving northeast at 50 mph.
Winds gusted to 56 mph in Ottumwa with this storm. Another strong
storm was located 7 miles southwest of Abingon moving northeast at
40 mph, that could become severe.
HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Sigourney, Hedrick, Richland, Packwood, Harper, Martinsburg,
Hayesville, Abingdon, Keota, Ollie, Linby, Lancaster, Keokuk County
Expo, Pekin, Lake Belva Deer Park, Yenruogis County Park, Brookville,
and Talleyrand.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
Iowa.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.
Prepare immediately for large hail and deadly cloud to ground
lightning. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure. Stay away from
windows.
