Description:
At 438 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Ionia, or near
Charles City, moving northeast at 35 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR EASTERN FLOYD AND WESTERN CHICKASAW.
HAZARD...At 436 PM, Law Enforcement reported baseball size hail near
Charles City.
SOURCE...Emergency management.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
siding, and vehicles.
This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
eastern Floyd and northwestern Chickasaw Counties, including the
following locations... County Roads B 33 And T 76, Idlewilde State
Park, Howards Wood Recreational Area, Roseville, Chickasaw,
Howardville, and Oakwood.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for north central
and northeastern Iowa.
This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive
hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should
move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows.
