Description:
At 1243 PM CDT, strong winds were being reported with decaying
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Spring Valley to near
Volga. Movement was northeast at 60 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
La Crosse, Winona, Decorah, Charles City, Oelwein, Prairie Du Chien,
La Crescent, Waukon, Cresco, Osage, New Hampton, Caledonia, West
Union, Preston, Elkader, Lansing, Spring Valley, Postville, Rushford,
and Nashua.
This includes Interstate 90 in Minnesota between mile markers 244 and
271, and near mile marker 274.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
northeastern Iowa...southeastern Minnesota...and southwestern and
west central Wisconsin.
