.Recent rounds of heavy rainfall are producing flooding on several
area tributary rivers.
* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring.
* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.
* WHEN...Until Saturday, June 20.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Water affects many residences along the
river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 12.7 feet and slowly
rising.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 12.8 feet early Monday
morning. It will then fall early Wednesday morning. It will
rise to 12.2 feet Friday morning. It will then fall below
flood stage next Saturday, June 20.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
