.Recent rounds of heavy rainfall are producing flooding on several
area tributary rivers.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Water affects many residences along the
river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 12.2 feet and steady.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 12.8 feet early Monday
morning. It will then fall early Wednesday afternoon. It will
rise to 12.2 feet Wednesday evening. It will then fall early
Thursday morning. It will rise to 12.3 feet Friday, June 19.
It will then fall again but remain above flood stage.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
