Maquoketa River near Maquoketa affecting Jackson County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Maquoketa River near Maquoketa. * WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Water affects agricultural land in the Maquoketa area and causes backups of storm sewers in town. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 26.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tonight and continue falling to 13.2 feet Friday, June 19. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
