...Observed flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity for the
following rivers in Iowa...
Maquoketa River near Maquoketa affecting Jackson County.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Maquoketa River near Maquoketa.
* WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning.
* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Water affects agricultural land in the
Maquoketa area and causes backups of storm sewers in town.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 26.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late tonight and continue falling to 13.2 feet Friday, June
19.
- Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
