Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Iowa River at Wapello.
* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon to late Thursday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Minor Flood Stage. Agricultural land near
the river is flooded and water covers most islands. Water starts
rising onto secondary roads in Wapello Bottoms.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 20.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 21.2 feet Tuesday
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
