Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...
Iowa River at Oakville affecting Louisa County.
Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Iowa River at Wapello.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon to Thursday, April 23.
* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Minor Flood Stage. Agricultural land near
the river is flooded and water covers most islands. Water starts
rising onto secondary roads in Wapello Bottoms.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 19.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Sunday afternoon to a crest of 21.3 feet early Monday
afternoon. More rain is forecast Friday night which may
result in a higher crest.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
