This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Overbank flooding occurs. Water affects residences along the river between Wheatland and Calamus. Water affects businesses along the river near Calamus. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.0 feet and falling. - Forecast...The river is forecast to fall to 11.5 feet early Thursday morning then begin rising to 12.0 feet Friday morning. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
Instruction: 
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Thursday morning at 1000 AM CDT.
