At 1024 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Carmi, moving east at 65 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Evansville, Mount Vernon, Melody Hill, Darmstadt, Poseyville, New Harmony, Cynthiana, Blairsville, Kasson, and Griffin. This includes the following highways... Interstate 69 in Indiana between Mile Markers 1 and 5, and between Mile Markers 8 and 20. Interstate 64 in Indiana between Mile Markers 4 and 27.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 AM CDT for southern and southeastern Illinois...southwestern Indiana...and northwestern Kentucky.
