* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southwestern St. Joseph County in north central Indiana...
Northeastern La Porte County in northwestern Indiana...
* Until 1045 PM EDT/945 PM CDT/.
* At 954 PM EDT/854 PM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along
a line extending from near La Porte to 6 miles northwest of
Walkerton to near Kingsford Heights, moving northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
* Locations impacted include...
La Porte, Walkerton, North Liberty, Kingsford Heights, Kingsbury,
Byron, South Center, Salem Heights, Fish Lake, Tracy, Crumstown,
and Stillwell.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT/100 AM CDT/ for
north central and northwestern Indiana.
