Description:
At 921 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Wolcott to 8 miles southwest of West Lafayette to 7
miles northeast of Newport, moving east at 65 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Lafayette, Crawfordsville, West Lafayette, Delphi, Covington,
Rockville, Veedersburg, Williamsport, Newport, Attica, Shadeland,
Dayton, Battle Ground, Cayuga, Montezuma, Waynetown, Linden, West
Lebanon, Dana, and Hillsboro.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 65 between mile markers 163 and 184.
Interstate 74 between mile markers 1 and 33.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT for central, north
central and west central Indiana.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
