Description:
At 1036 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 11 miles south of Greencastle to 14 miles northeast of
Sullivan to 6 miles northwest of Linton, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Greencastle, Brazil, Linton, Sullivan, Jasonville, Cloverdale,
Shelburn, Farmersburg, Dugger, Knightsville, Clay City, Hymera,
Fairbanks, Harmony, Staunton, Center Point, Merom, Riley, Reelsville,
and Saline City.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 12 and 41.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
