Description:
At 551 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Scottsburg and Madison, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Madison, Scottsburg, Bedford, Vienna, Austin, Lexington, Hanover,
Saluda, Smyrna, and Bethlehem.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Louisville.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for
south central Indiana...and central Kentucky.
