...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...
East Fork White River near Rivervale.
Flatrock River near Columbus.
East Fork White River at Columbus.
Driftwood River near Edinburgh.
East Fork White River at Seymour.
East Fork White River near Bedford.
East Fork White River at Williams.
.Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the last couple of days has
brought moderate flooding to the Seymour area on the East Fork White
and widespread minor lowland flooding the East Fork White basin. The
crest on the East Fork is near Columbus and Seymour, and on the
lower East Fork flooding is expected to last through most of next
week. More rounds of rainfall going into and through the holiday
weekend could make the flooding last even longer and bring higher
crests for downriver points.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...East Fork White River at Seymour.
* WHEN...Until early Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive flooding is in progress. More
than 50 percent of the flood plain in Jackson County is
underwater. Flood waters near the east edge of Medora. High water
isolates wastewater treatment plant at Seymour. Many county roads
that do not cross the river begin to flood. Many state and county
roads are impassable by water. High water affects many rural
residents, but only a few evacuations are necessary. Flood waters
surround most river cabins.

- At 10:45 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 18.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:45 AM EDT Thursday was 18.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Monday afternoon and continue falling and remain below flood
stage.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.
