Kankakee River at Shelby affecting Lake IN and Newton Counties. For the Kankakee River...including Dunns Bridge, Shelby...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Kankakee River from US-421 south of La Crosse downstream to IN-49 south of Kouts, including the Dunns Bridge gauge. * WHEN...Until Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Structures threatened near IN-49 and the river. Backwater on a drainage canal threatens 1200 South Road east of IN-49. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall over the next few days and eventually below flood stage by Saturday night. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
