Floodwaters affect low spots on South River Rd on the south side of Janesville. Floodwaters affect a home on South Christian Rd on the east side of the river in the Afton area. There is extensive lowland and agricultural land flooding in the Afton and Janesville areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 10.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2:00 AM CDT Wednesday was 10.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood stage at 10.7 feet. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instruction: 
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
