Sugar River At Brodhead affecting Rock, Winnebago and Green
Counties.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Sugar River at Brodhead.
* WHEN...Until Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Floodwaters are over Highway T, Beloit
Newark Rd, S Hopkins Rd, and there is flooding in Sugar River Park
in the Avon Bottoms area of Rock County. There is widespread
agricultural and lowland flooding in the Brodhead area. In
Illinois, structures at Sugar Shores Camping Resort may be
threatened. Winslow Rd is threatened near the river between Durand
and Shirland.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 8.1 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 4.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:00 AM CDT Saturday was 8.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Monday morning and continue falling to 2.2 feet
Saturday, April 25.
- Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
8.1 feet on 05/19/1999.

Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.
