Description:
At 1155 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Media, or 15
miles southwest of Monmouth, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Monmouth, Oquawka, Roseville, Stronghurst, Kirkwood, Biggsville,
Gladstone, Rozetta, Terre Haute, Raritan, Disco, Media, Larchland,
Monmouth Municipal Airport, Warren County Fairgrounds, Eleanor,
Decorra, Lone Tree, Ponemah, and Henderson County Fairgrounds.
This also includes Delabar State Park and Henderson County
Conservation Area.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 PM CDT for west central
Illinois...and southeastern Iowa.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
