Description:
At 345 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Beach Park to Ohare Airport to near Lockport, moving
east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Waukegan, Cicero, Arlington Heights,
Evanston, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Oak
Lawn, Berwyn, Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, Oak Park,
Downers Grove, Glenview, Elmhurst, Lombard, Buffalo Grove, Bartlett,
and Ohare Airport.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
