Description:
At 116 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Hitt to near Yorktown, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Sterling, Rock Falls, Prophetstown, Atkinson, Tampico, Lyndon,
Hooppole, Coleta, Deer Grove, Emerson, Round Grove, Yeoward Addition,
Whiteside County Airport, Galt, Prophetstown State Recreation Area,
Penrose, Como, Leon Corners, Grimes Addition, and Douglas Park.
This includes Interstate 88 between mile markers 28 and 44.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.
Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or
lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.
SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
