Description:
At 910 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Pleasant Prairie to McHenry, moving southeast at 45
mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Waukegan, Gurnee, Mundelein, Round Lake Beach, Zion, Grayslake,
Libertyville, Round Lake, Wauconda, Lindenhurst, North Chicago,
Vernon Hills, Long Grove, Lake Bluff, Green Oaks, Buffalo Grove,
Lake Forest, Lincolnshire, Highland Park, Deerfield, Highwood,
Riverwoods, Bannockburn, Northbrook and Glencoe.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for northeastern
Illinois.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
