Description:
At 422 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Portage Des
Sioux, or 7 miles north of Florissant, moving northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Orchard Farms, Portage Des Sioux, Grafton, Elsah, West Alton,
Otterville, Godfrey, McClusky, Delhi, Jerseyville, Brighton, Miles
Station, Piasa and Fidelity.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT Friday for
portions of southwest Illinois and east central Missouri.
