Missouri...Illinois...
Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Perry, Union,
Alexander, Cape Girardeau, Scott and Jackson Counties.
Mississippi River at Thebes affecting Alexander and Scott
Counties.
For the Mississippi River...including Cape Girardeau, Thebes,
Hickman, New Madrid...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Mississippi River at Thebes.
* WHEN...From Friday morning to early Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 34.0 feet, The town of Thebes begins to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 31.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow morning to a crest of 35.8 feet early Sunday
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday
evening.
- Flood stage is 33.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
