...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...Missouri...
Mississippi River at Winfield.
River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Mississippi River at Winfield.
* WHEN...Until late Monday night.
* IMPACTS...At 29.5 feet, Highway B in eastern St. Charles County
floods near the Dardenne Creek bridge. At 29.8 feet, Much of County
Highways B and C in eastern St. Charles County are flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 29.6 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 11:30 AM CDT Wednesday was 29.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 29.6 feet
this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday
evening.
- Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
