Description:
At 549 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles north of Calvert City to near Reidland.
Movement was southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Paducah, Benton, Calvert City, Eddyville, Hillman Ferry Campground,
Reidland, Birmingham Ferry Recreation Area, Demumbers Bay Campground,
Land Between The Lakes Area, Ledbetter, Kuttawa, Grand Rivers,
Smithland, Hamletsburg, and Symsonia.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 24 in Kentucky between Mile Markers 9 and 46.
Interstate 69 in Kentucky between Mile Markers 41 and 71.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
