Description:
At 548 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near New Windsor to near 4th Pumping Station
Campground, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Monmouth, Oquawka, Burgess, Viola, Woodhull, Alpha, Keithsburg,
Little York, Rozetta, Seaton, North Henderson, New Windsor, Lake
Warren, Shale City, Ogle, Alexis, Coldbrook, Bald Bluff, Gerlaw, and
Kingston.
This includes Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 30 and
33.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
